Call for Applications!

The Taubman Institute is accepting applications from assistant medical school faculty for its Emerging Scholar Grants to support early translational research at U-M.

These $200,000, five-year grants are available to MDs at the assistant professor level who are engaged in both clinical practice and research.

Once an application has been vetted by TI leadership and the institute’s scientific review committee, the institute’s development officer will work to match the candidate with donors.   Monies for the Emerging Scholar grants are provided directly by philanthropists interested in supporting a specific field of inquiry and are awarded on an as-available basis.

In addition to financial support, Taubman Emerging Scholars enjoy mentoring, collaboration and career development assistance from more senior Taubman Scholars.  To date, more than 20 early-career physician-scientists at U-M have benefitted from the Emerging Scholars Program.

Please download this form, complete and e-mail to TI Communications Director Melissa Preddy via mpreddy@med.umich.edu

Deadline for applications is January 15, 2018.
