An oncology researcher making strides in the difficult field of brain tumors will be named the inaugural Achtenberg Family Research Professor in Radiation Oncology.
Taubman Emerging Scholar Dan Wahl, MD, PhD, impressed the generous donors with his passion for oncology research while caring for a member of the Achtenberg family. Dr. Wahl is a associate professor at the U-M medical school, and a physician-scientist in the Department of Radiation Oncology, where he cares for patients with brain tumors in the clinic.
His laboratory studies the relationship between abnormal metabolism and therapy resistance in glioblastoma and other brain tumors.
